[Evented or not, Lithuania's wandering the park on his own today--his birthday. Being away from home feels awkward, none of his people are here and he feels like he should be doing things when he's so lacking in resources. He'll spend time with Koharu later, he supposes, which will make things a bit better, or at least provide a distraction. Maybe he could make a cake for himself or something.

It's just not the same without his people, and that he can't even feel them due to being human leaves a gaping emptiness in him. He's humming his anthem without realizing.]

When you go back...you don't remember this place at all. Then you come back and remember...the change in behaviour... This place changes who you are.

[He pauses to think about that.]

I suppose it would be impossible for it not to. We're a product of our experiences, after all.

[Of course, his people dictate his behavior at home, so he's a bit more calm about the idea of radical shifts in thought than a human might be.]

Would it be better or worse if you remembered Mayfield when you returned?

You've always returned here before. Once there's a chance to really go home, maybe you'll get the choice to remember or not.

I don't want to remember if I'm going to be stuck. I don't...want to know what I'm leaving behind...

I'd rather be here until we break free. I'd rather go to my Darling's world than go home... Even if I'd miss my parents and my country...

[Lithuania can only vaguely understand that. No, intellectually it makes sense, but as a nation, he can't imagine ever having that sort of conviction not to return. But that's one of the differences between nations and humans, maybe.]

That's the difficulty, isn't it... I can't claim to know anything really about this place, but if it got us all here, in one place, then I don't see why we couldn't use that technology if we found it.

Mm, that's my assessment of the situation as well. Whatever's brought us here can't be an inherent power unique to one person.

If it's a machine or something, it would just be a matter of figuring out how it works...

The ergaleomancers of my world would be able to replicate it if it's purely mechanical in design. Or even partially magical. It's only going to be truly difficult if the process is inherently and mostly magical.

And there's no magic at all in my world. I guess it depends on how it got us here in the first place.

My guess is technological. This farce of a world is too technological to have been spawned by magical origins.

Unless they found a way to augment it from some other world... [Dry laugh.] This is the oddest conversation I've had in a while. Trying to figure out how some sort of--dimension teleporting device works.

It could be worse. I think the strangest conversation I've had here was with England...
