du; multiple choice action

[1. Lithuania has just learned he has a job at the bakery. This is news to him, of course, but he ends up going anyway, so if you happen to be in the bakery today, you can see him bustling about, baking things or sorting things or attempting to do both at once. Most are Valentine's Day themed, since that was what he was told to make.

Also, he made free samples. Have some. They are delicious.]

[2. After that, there's more exploring to be done, in the interests of not resting until the day he can walk around town without getting hopelessly lost in the identical streets.

That day is not today, as he is rather lost. Maybe he should try to find a map...]

[3. [1333 Benny Street] And now back at sort-of-home Lithuania has decided the house needs cleaning. If you have some reason to be in the house, he is cleaning all the things.]

[....]

I think I must have misheard you. I--I know you're from Lithuania.

[Nina just stares, at first.]

...I...I see. [Then she tries to smile.] Well, I guess that's not any weirder than being an alien or a robot or from the dawn of time.

[Actually, it is a little weirder. Maybe not much, though. People do talk about countries like they're alive sometimes, right? And maybe he's from one of those 'other worlds' she's sill sort of struggling to wrap her brain around.]

So do people live on you, then, or what?

I don't think I get it. I know you can have a representation of a concept, but then how can you, you know, talk? Or walk around? Or bake?

[identity profile] brotherseyes.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. [Quiet. She feels slightly bad now.] I guess that makes sense. I'm sorry for interrogating you. It's just so strange...

[identity profile] brotherseyes.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Really? What, do you just hang out with all the other countries all day?

[identity profile] brotherseyes.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Do your people know you're their country? [She smiles a little at the image of him and Poland just hanging out, though. Then her eyes fall, again, on the pastries.] You know, I probably shouldn't eat anymore samples, but I think I'd like to buy a half-dozen of the ausukes. If you don't mind?

Your boss? Your Prime Minister, right? [Gives him the money and takes it, smiling.] Thank you!

Ah, that's right! Is it ever strange, being a country? I guess it must not be, if you're used to it.
