[Lithuania makes a habit of checking the mail before work, so when it arrives he's already dressed to leave, flipping through letters while he finishes eating a bagel. The letter addressed to him doesn't bring any immediate worries--you get things back after events, right? Though he's not sure what could show up in an envelope...

There's a moment of recognition, and it shows in his eyes as he sees the photograph, wide and almost willing to bolt.

And then he hisses as the first scar carves its way back into his back. He balances unsteadily against the mailbox.]

B; 1333 Benny Road
[It's not like Lithuania to skip work for no reason, or to not be bustling around the house when he is home. But no, he's laying stomach-down on the couch, having not been able to make it into his room. He's hoping no one will notice him, and the girls will just go to school without comment.]

[She nods a little as he speaks, trying to wipe her eyes before he can see]

Why is this place so cruel...[She pulls out the antiseptic and hesitates] I...should probably clean this, but it'll hurt more.

[He smiles more, almost insistent on maintaining it.]

[She carefully dabs it on, being as gentle as possible as she cleans out the cuts] I'msorryI'msorry

[Although he's still surprised how much things seem to hurt without his ability (that he never realized he had until he lost it in Mayfield) to ignore pain, he doesn't make a sound or show any signs of being in pain, for Koharu's sake.]

[Once she's cleaned it all, she carefully sets out bandages] I'm sorry if it hurt--are there any more coming?

[She waits silently then, washing the cloth out again and waiting to see if the next ones will be bad]

[The next one isn't nearly as bad, although she does get to watch the rather strange process of the scar ripping through flesh and reasserting itself on his back.]

[She winces and looks away, that is too creepy] It...looks painful, I'm sorry.

Pain passes. [He smiles vaguely at her, another attempt to reassure her. The next scar bleeds a bit.]

Yes, I know. [She carefully cleans that one as well, being as gentle as possible]

You just have to believe tomorrow will be better, right?

Right. Right. [Her face has fallen and she looks upset, but she doesn't say anything about it]

[A few more scars pop in. They're starting to look more like ones that will fade, though.]

[She just starts disinfecting things again, murmuring apologies as it seems the scars are calming down a bit]

It hardly hurts at all, really!

[This is the worst lie ever, but he's very good at delivering it.]

[One more scar cuts into his back.] Oh, that was the last...

[She cleans it up and starts bandaging up the worst ones] T-Thank goodness.

[He stretches a bit, getting used to the feel of it again.]
