[Lithuania woke early out of habit even in times of peace. In a time like this, he was awake even earlier than usual, pacing the house restlessly but staying away from the windows. The fear had abated somewhat once he killed his target, but he had been worrying since this began--no hallucinations, at least, was better than nothing.

He wished vaguely for a sword--it was a bit ridiculous, given its lack of use compared to guns, but it was familiar, and the machete wasn't quite the same. Well, maybe he'd get one back. But a machine gun or something would probably be more useful.]

[His tone is--not exactly chirpy, but almost sing-song. A dull sort of sing-song, though.]

[He frowns, but focuses on what Estonia is saying for once.]

Alright... Well the woman who was out to kill me--or she must have been the one since--wait I'm getting ahead of myself. Um, she came. About two hours ago, well two hours and fifteen minutes, and it took an hour before she was dead--um. She came up to the door and I attacked her and the gun went off and then there was a sword fight except I only had a machete. But she died and when I picked up the things she'd dropped--um we lost the gun pretty early on, I was looking for that--there was this.

[He hands a letter to Estonia in which Olivier was requesting a truce from Lithuania.]

So that was all really really bad, I've decided for sure it's two really's.

[He smiles a little at that, less hysterically than he has been.]

I still--I should have waited instead of--jumping and now she's dead and it was entirely pointless, I didn't mean to, I really didn't.

[He's taking the long-sleeved shirt into account finally, and looking from it to the hat a few times.]

Believe me when I say I understand completely. But remember what you told me the other day? Anyone who judged us for taking a chance on this doesn't understand the severity of the situation.

Yes. Right. Right. I'm just so, I don't know, it's, I'm... [There's another pause.] I'm really tired.

Have you been injured?

Not badly. [He didn't get out of the fight unscathed, but he's covered the bandages with his clothes since then.]

She's very good, I mean she was, even with the poison. She runs the resistance, did you know that? Um, but no one's coming back like they should...

Usually everyone comes back after they die in Mayfield, they wake up in bed the next day, but it's not happening right now, everyone's staying dead.

... That doesn't change anything, though. We still did what we had to do.

Yes, I would have done it anyway, but it's a bit disconcerting! You'd think it would be the other way around, this would feel normal, you know, but after you stay here for a few months and everyone says that like it's fine for people to die after lunch and be at work the next morning it becomes unsettling when it's the other way around, the normal way.

I--probably should, I know that reasonably, but I don't have time and it's not safe. There are two girls here, they didn't get letters but if someone killed them trying to get to me I could never forgive myself it's a little like they're mine even if they're not and I think one of them is Japan's. I haven't had much sleep, maybe three hours since Friday, but I can't until it's done.

You have weapons here, right? And now you have your brother, too. This means that it is safe to sleep. In fact, I highly encourage it, to the point of possibly being angry if you don't. I'll stay and keep an eye on the house and the girls.

Great. I know it will. Is, uh, your pseudo-family home?

Yes, Miss Lyra and Miss Madoka are--Miss Rose was here but she's been droned. Lyra is the younger one, but she's more outgoing, and Madoka is older and she's been nervous since she arrived. She can make food, but don't let Lyra decide, she'll just eat girl scout cookies.

[What. He's a nation. He needs to take care of someone. He writes a quick note for Madoka and Lyra telling them it's okay that Estonia is in the house.]

It's not healthy if that's all you eat, and she'd eat them three meals a--h-hey, don't call me that... [Estoniaaaaa]

Ah, you should probably introduce yourself, I think Miss Lyra at least would try to fight you...
