[This time, when the group meets, the number hasn't decreased at all. The Producer even untied Spain himself for this meeting to make sure everyone is accounted for.]

( Don't mind Spain, rubbing his wrists and getting used to his brief bit of freedom right now. )

Stiles came to my room and took something. ( He isn't really sure what it was and he didn't stop to read the popularity ratings on his way here since he's pretty done with this game on his end but yeah. ) I'm sorry.

Maybe your argument was especially convincing.

[souredsweet]

[eyeing... SIDE-EYEING... but Kaoru can't tell how genuine he's being and settles for just being vaguely miffed instead.]

Then I suppose it is a good thing that I thought to speak up at all.

[luckily for Spain, Kaoru had been paying particularly close attention to the incentives and rankings this week!]

...Was it a small something? Something that could be hidden in his hand?

[During the meeting, the Producer will address Spain.] I believe I promised you a video.

[He gestures to the fireplace. A video begins to play--it's a little reminiscent of the incentive videos, except there's no text. The scenes vary, flitting from busy streets of Madrid to more rural settings and everything in between, but in all of them Spain's people can be seen. They are as Spain remembers them, and appear to be doing well.]

It is. [He seems sincere.] You're quite good at acting.

It was likely the key that you received for being on the popular list this week. I do not know how important it is; the incentives simply said that it unlocked a secret in the manor.

[Lithuania gets a brief and somewhat terse smile.]

Coming from you, I will consider that an extremely high compliment. [and then, to Spain:] You were not so terrible, yourself. Though I believe you are giving me a little too much credit. It was stressful to see Mr. Latvia hung; I did not mind his company.

When I murder... Even if I wind up getting caught... Will Novoselic be alright?

You lose your incentive if you're killed, so please try your best not to be.

[ A pause. Then, suddenly: ]

What if I pick Poland for my target?

[vytis]

You have to pick someone who is on either the dispensable or the deadweight list.

( When the video comes on, Spain watches for every detail. He watches the expressions on everyone's faces to know they're happy and he watches the buildings to know everyone is safe. He does't see any thing that might harm them, and he immediately relaxes.

He looks more relieved than happy, considering the price this came for but he has no regrets. )

... Thank you, everyone. ( And he's truly grateful for everyone's help during the trial (even Lithuania's but like hell he'll admit it) ) And as promised, I'll continue to cooperate.

That has never been a part of the rules. So long as someone is not immune, they are a valid target, yes?

I made it clear from the meeting at the end of week two onward that this group is to target the contestants on those two lists.

It was clearly a preference. A suggestion. But it is not a hard rule, is it? No, it cannot possibly be: after all, for ratings, the murder of someone off of the lists would be much more interesting, wouldn't it?

Do you care at all for that person? How cruel to pretend so freely with your affections.

[pasodoble]

Why? If she's going to risk her life for her nation then she should be able to choose how she'll do it.

[pasodoble]

They get a key and I get a riddle. I go through every book in the manor and they go through every door they can find... How unfair.

( IT TOOK HIM WEEKS TO FIND THAT SYRINGE. WEEKS. )

Then I'm afraid I've lost both of my rewards this week.

The contestants on the bottom lists are the ones we would like off of the show the most. As for Poland specifically, you know this discussion is irrelevant for this week given that he has immunity. My advice to you, then, is not to select your target based on how much you think it will spite me. Not because I expect any kindness from you, but because you should be thinking more about which target will allow you to best get away with your crime.

The dispensable and deadweight list contestants are the ones considered to be contributing least to the show.

[ She gapes at him, stunned that nothing really seems to shake him. It only increases her frustration. Then she straightens up haughtily. ]

F...fine. But I make no promise that I will select someone from the bottom lists.

[teenspirit]

Why does that matter? If I give you a dramatic enough performance, it shall more than make up for it.

[super helpfully and not at all because of Producer-based spite!!]

There is, of course, the option of framing.

Then does it matter if they are killed directly or by trial as long as they're gone? And what of the players the audience has no opinion for right now?

Well... That is fine. We do not know how much help the keys will be in the end, and none of us would have been able to use that poison without implicating you.

You are insistent about this, aren't you? If you can promise it will be dramatic enough, I will consider it--but you'll have to give me a day or two to think it over.

[souredsweet]

I am glad that the bargain has been honored. [Kaoru's already given a "you're welcome" earlier, so that's just met with a gentle nod.]

[teenspirit]

[ Suddenly, she seems gravely serious. ]

Yes. I promise you. I will give this show a week the audience shall never forget.

[vytis]

[He seems to consider her seriousness for a moment.]

Very well. Will you tell me who you plan on targeting?

[vytis]

They're in the middle in regards to popularity. If you're all so insistent about it, though, I'll consider it.

[teenspirit]

...That depends on who is making their move this week between Kaoru and I.

[souredsweet]

You will not have to fret over taking your turn just yet.

[teenspirit]

[ Looking with concern at Kaoru, then, to Lithuania: ]

My selected victim shall be someone under none of the lists. Someone who winds up perfectly in the middle. We shall see who that will be after this week's trial.

I'd hope they would use their poison kit but I had no idea May's... magic ( HE DOESNT EVEN KNOW ) would work like that.

( Spain would say more but the fact is, he really liked Latvia a lot too. Combined with how much he had lied to him before the hanging... Spain really can't say anything. )

Who has a poison kit? [QUE...] ...Though I was unaware that it would work in such a way as well. She seemed quite happy to be able to help, regardless.

It was one of the prizes before but I don't know who has it.

( A sigh, )

Considering she'd been feeling rather useless before... ( He's actually really glad May was able to do something but he feels like expressing that wouldn't be very good right now. )

Ah... [WELL THAT'S UNFORTUNATE. Kaoru's frown looks pinched.]

It is a shame, then, that we were not able to rid ourselves of it. Still, it was good that she was able to feel useful. [it's okay Spain, Kaoru will voice it.]
